Zalora is the largest fast-fashion e-commerce player in Southeast Asia with millions of customers across 11 countries. The company features an extensive selection of products that grows by 24,000 every week, so a robust product discovery process is essential. We worked with Zalora to boost sales conversion rates by intelligently matching the right products to customers and delivering personalized experiences at scale.
We used a proprietary product recommendation algorithm to learn about customers as they browse through Zalora’s store in real-time. This data, along with customers’ past purchases, was used to provide intelligent recommendations for new products that customers would be interested in. Recommendations are displayed on a personalized page for each customer that adapts on the fly as customers interact with the store. We also incorporated personalized recommendations into Zalora’s email campaigns.
The recommendations powered by the algorithm proved to drive engagement and sales uplift for Zalora. The personalized recommendations page saw a 35% click through rate and sales conversion of above $1 per click. Adding recommendations to Zalora’s email campaigns boosted conversions by 50%, and the recommendations brought in 80% of sales from the campaign.
